You didn’t open the official voting guide, and you haven’t heard of half the candidates.
But you’d like to do your civic duty and vote today.
Here’s some information to help get you up to speed in a hurry.
Election day registration
The deadline to register in California has passed, but anyone not registered who wishes to vote may do so by visiting their county elections office. Fresno County Clerk Brandi Orth said many were taking advantage of that new-to-California option Tuesday morning.
Those who are without reliable transportation to their polling place can received discounted rides from rideshare companies Lyft (promo code: VOTECA1) and Uber (promo code: VOTE2018).
