The National Weather Service warns upcoming storms in the southern Sierra Nevada in California including Yosemite National Park and Merced and Mariposa counties could bring flooding to wildfire burn scar areas.
Yosemite National Park will close Tioga and Glacier Point roads starting 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20 due to expected incoming winter weather. The roads will reopen as weather and road conditions permit. Park entrance gates remain open.
The Washington Post released a list of U.S. cities with the most days of nice weather. Fresno, CA., ranked seventh on the list, which took into account daily temperatures, humidity, wind speeds and rain.
Fresno, CA, broke its record for triple-digit heat July 27, 2018, with 22 days of temperature above 100 degrees. The forecast from the National Weather Service predicts 100-plus temperatures through Aug. 2, 2018. The previous record was set in 2005.
