These new Fresno, Clovis area restaurants are planning 2022 openings. Check out the list

The year 2021 wasn’t what restaurant owners hoped it would be.

Still dealing with the pandemic, along with a host of other issues, several restaurants closed (though many opened, too).

But there’s plenty to look forward to in 2022 on the Fresno region’s restaurant scene. More than two dozen restaurants are in the works and expected to open.

They range from highly anticipated chains to new locations of local favorites, and some brand-new names.

It may be a while before some of them open, however. If we have information about an opening date, we shared it. But between permitting and construction, opening a restaurant can take a lot longer than you might expect.

Here’s at glance at what we can look forward to in 2022.

New restaurants

Angry Chickz, the quick-service restaurant selling Nashville hot chicken, has at least two new locations coming to the Valley.

One is at Mooney Boulevard and Prosperity Avenue in Tulare. Another location is headed for Hanford, though the company hasn’t revealed the location yet.

Ampersand Ice Cream is working on its third location, shooting to open in February.

This one will be at northwest corner of Willow and Shepherd avenues, across the intersection from Enzo’s Table in a new development called The Row at Heritage Grove.

Baklava House has a sign up at the northwest corner of Bullard and West avenues. Its Instagram account says it’s planning a January opening.

Blast & Brew is taking over the Piazza del Pane that shut its doors near Palm and Herndon avenues during the pandemic. It’s a pizza and beer place that has a location in Old Town Clovis.

Both restaurants have the same Fresno-based parent company, which also owns Me-n-Ed’s.
