Fresno State football adds two more players through transfer portal, bringing total to 7

Two more players are headed to the Fresno State football team through the transfer portal.

Drake defensive lineman Finn Claypool and Northern Illinois safety Ethan Tierney announced their commitments on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Fresno State then announced both have signed and are officially Bulldogs.

Claypool and Tierney are the seventh players to come through the transfer portol, joining running back Rayshon Luke, linebacker Jadon Pearson, safety Simeon Harris, offensive tackle Kyson Van Vugt and offensive lineman Gino Quinones.

Claypool is 6-foot-1 and played three full seasons at Drake finishing with 30.5 sacks and 51 tackles for loss. He also had seven forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

He has one year remaining as a graduate. He redshirted in 2021.

Tierney, meanwhile, reunites with Fresno State defensive coordinator Nick Benedetto, who coached at Northern Illinois.

Tierney is 6-1 and appeared in six games this past season. He has three seasons remaining.
