UPDATE: Police identify two of three victims discovered in backyard of Reedley home
Two people were found dead Saturday morning in the backyard of a Reedley home.
Reedley Police Chief Jose Garza said the discovery was made at 9 a.m. in the 1100 block of South Church after family members arrived and noticed a break-in had occurred. Officers arrived and “found signs of what appeared to be forced entry into the residence,” Garza said.
Garza said several weapons are missing, including possibly a rifle.
“It’s unknown right now at this point, what they died from,” Garza said. “That’s something that we will continue to investigate.”
It’s also unknown when the elderly man and the woman died, but family told officers they had been trying to contact them for at least a day.
Late Saturday, Garza announced a third victim had been found dead that was described to be a man.
Officers are looking for 43-year-old Matthew Bonds, who is believed to be at risk because of known health issues, Garza said.
His current whereabouts are unknown.
Homicide detectives were to remain on scene for several hours, Garza said.
