Three young men were arrested and face attempted murder charges in connection with a drive-by shooting in the small Fresno County city of San Joaquin.

Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kevin Rosales, 20, of Huron, Luis Bravo-Edwardo, 19, of Huron, and Esekuiel Ochoa-Felix, 19, of Coalinga. They were booked into Fresno County Jail.

The shooting happened about 8:45 p.m. Thursday as a 22-year-old victim stood in the area of Nevada and Sixth Street, the sherriff’s office said. The man went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In addition to the murder charge, the suspects are accused of participating in a criminal street gang.

Rosales also faces a charge of carrying a loaded weapon and a probation violation. His bail is set at $565,000. Bravo-Edwardo’s bail is $530,000 and Ochoa-Felix’s is $530,000.

The arrests come a day after deputies booked a 17-year-old boy in connection with the killing of 19-year-old Yordy Urbieta of Tranquillity on Tuesday night.

Urbieta was fatally shot in the same area that Rosales, Bravo-Edwardo and Ochoa-Felix are suspected of conducting a drive-by shooting.

San Joaquin is about 30 miles southwest of Fresno and has a population of about 4,000.
