The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified a man who was killed in a crash Wednesday night.

The man was identified as John Jones, 62, of Fresno.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 8:45 p.m. at Highway 180 and the Peach Avenue off-ramp.

CHP said Jones was driving a Chervolet Silverado east on 180 when he exited onto the Peach off-ramp, but allowed his vehicle to drift to the right off the roadway. The truck struck a roadway sign, chain-linked fence and veered into a concrete wall of a business.

Jones was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died, CHP said.

CHP said alcohol was a factor in the collision.
