Pedestrian killed after she was struck by dirt bike in Fresno. Cops say rider was injured
A woman was killed Friday night after she was struck by a dirt bike in Fresno.
The collision happened at 9 p.m. at Sierra Vista and Michigan avenues.
Fresno police Lt. Zeb Price said the motorcyclist was on his dirt bike going northbound on Sierra Vista when he struck a woman in her 40s at Michigan Avenue.
The dirt biker made his way to a liquor store at Sierra Vista and Shields where officers were called. The man had an injury to his right arm.
He told officers he believed he struck a pedestrian down the street, Price said.
Officers went to check the area and found the woman who had injuries. She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where she died.
The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit were investigating the deadly crash to see who was at fault.
The dirt biker was cooperative with officers, Price said.
