64-year-old man killed in crash off Fresno highway. He struck a building, CHP says

A man died in a solo vehicle collision off Highway 180 in Fresno on Wednesday night.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 8:45 p.m. at 180 and the Peach Avenue off-ramp.

Through an investigation, CHP said a 64-year-old man was driving a Chervolet Silverado east on 180 when he exited onto the Peach off-ramp, but allowed his vehicle to drift to the right off the roadway. The truck struck a roadway sign, chain-linked fence and veered into a concrete wall of a business.

The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died, CHP said.

CHP spokesman Mike Salas said alcohol was a factor in the collision.

The investigation was ongoing.
