UPDATE: Man who died in Fresno crash into parked truck identified by coroner

A 26-year-old Fresno man was killed early Sunday after crashing into a parked truck south of Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash took place on South Cherry Avenue, south of East Lincoln Avenue, about 5:45 a.m. near the town of Easton.

CHP spokesman Mike Salas said the driver was southbound on Cherry when he drifted to the right side of the roadway and slammed into the rear of a parked tractor-trailer truck.

The man died at the scene. CHP said it was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident.
