The Fresno County Coroner on Monday identified the driver of a minivan who was killed Friday when he drove into the back of a parked work truck west of Highway 99.

He was Meshach Cornish, 36, of Fresno.

Fresno police Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said that the crash took place about 10:45 a.m. as Cornish was driving north on Marks Avenue approaching Ashlan Avenue when he slammed into the back of a large work truck parked on Marks. The truck was blocking the right lane of Marks but was marked by traffic cones, police said.

Cornish died after he was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center.
