Two Fresno residents killed in Grapevine crash identified by coroner. Others also hurt
Two Fresno residents killed in a crash on the Grapevine were identified Thursday by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
Isaiah Dieago Zamarripa, 21, and Tania Ajanae Oliver, 19, were riding with others south of Laval Road on Wheeler Ridge on Interstate 5 about 3 a.m. April 9 when the fatal crash occurred, according to authorities.
The driver, a 19-year-old man, was headed north with five other Fresnans, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP did not provide information about how the crash occurred. The driver along with two women and a man, all 20 years old, were taken to Kern Medical Center with major injuries.
Northbound I-5 was closed for nearly two hours after the crash.
