Update: Woman killed in crash with tow truck in Fresno identified. Video captured incident

A woman killed early Wednesday when her car collided with a tow truck at Friant and Shepherd avenues was identified by the Fresno County Coroner as Amaya Chenot, 22, of Fresno.

The collision, which was caught on camera, took place about 12:45 a.m. when the tow truck crashed into Chenot’s sedan in the middle of the intersection, said Fresno police Lt. Robert Dewey.

The large crash scene shut down a significant part of the roadway in the area as police worked to determine what caused the collision and who was at fault, Dewey added. The tow truck driver remained on scene and spoke with police

A YouTube page called Friant Roulette posted video from the crash that appears to show the tow truck run a red light before T-boning the sedan.

Fresno Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said around noon Wednesday that detectives had not yet confirmed the video was legitimate, but said it was consistent with the information police received.
