The long-awaited Fresno location of Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is open.

The fast food restaurant opened with fanfare Tuesday morning.

It’s at the southwest corner of North Blackstone Avenue and El Paso Avenue, on the site of the former Logan’s Roadhouse. That restaurant was torn down to make way for Raising Cane’s.

It had originally planned to open last week, but pushed that opening back.

It’s the second Raising Cane’s in the area, with the first opening in October on Shaw Avenue, across from Sierra Vista Mall. There are also locations in Hanford, Visalia and Tulare.

What is Raising Cane’s?

The menu specializes in one thing: chicken fingers that come with french fries, Texas toast and coleslaw.

The restaurant has proved popular among locals with long lines of cars at the Clovis location’s drive-thru and people eagerly awaiting the Fresno opening.

The Fresno Raising Cane’s has a multi-lane drive-thru. The restaurant employees take orders carside. They then deliver food to the car, meaning most cars don’t stop at the takeout window.

It’s open late, until 2 a.m. or 3:30 a.m., depending on the day.

Another Raising Cane’s is slated to be built, along with a Dutch Bros Coffee, at East Kings Canyon Road and South Willow Avenue.

Details: The first Fresno Raising Cane’s is at 7507 N. Blackstone Ave. Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sundays through Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. 559-650-7290.
