Derek Carr earns praise from top receivers during run-up to Pro Bowl
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr plays in his third straight Pro Bowl on Sunday in Orlando, Fla.
He’ll be throwing passes to wide receivers Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jarvis Landry of the Miami Dolphins, among others. Keep an eye on the Carr-Landry connection, in particular – Landry is a free agent.
“He’s a great quarterback, a guy that I respect, admire; you guys have a great one in y’all hands,” Landry told Raiders.com.
Brown also sings Carr’s praises.
“He’s special, man,” Brown told Raiders.com. “It’s been an honor catching the ball from him. … He’s a great young quarterback, young champion, and (has) all the fundamentals to be one of the greatest.”
Carr is already a winner in Orlando, beating out Los Angeles Ram Jared Goff and Seattle Seahawk Russell Wilson in the Precision Passing challenge on Wednesday.
"We came to win, I told you."

The former Fresno State star originally was an alternate for the Pro Bowl. Carr replaces New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who plays in Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 4 in Minneapolis.
The other AFC quarterbacks are Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Alex Smith of the Kansas City Chiefs.
