Derek Carr and David Carr are coming soon to a Fresno stage

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and his older brother David are heading to the theater stage next month in Fresno.

No, they’re not starring in a Broadway show. It’s “Inside the Huddle,” a night of listening to the brothers talk football (including a breakdown of the top five plays of the Raiders’ 2017 season) and other topics.

The event is a fundraiser for Valley Children’s Hospital. It takes place Feb. 17 at Saroyan Theatre.

In 2017, the Carrs drew a crowd of about 1,000 to a similar event in Modesto.

Derek Carr just finished his fourth season with Oakland and is looking forward to playing for new coach Jon Gruden. David Carr spent 10 seasons in the NFL and is now an analyst for NFL Network. He also writes an in-season weekly column for The Bee.

“Fresno is like my second home,” Derek Carr says. “David and I hope that this can become our signature event in Fresno to help the hospital and ultimately the entire community.”

The brothers, who both starred at Fresno State, will answer audience questions. The evening concludes with a drawing with four winners each receiving signed No. 4 jerseys.

Tickets are $40. VIP tickets are sold out.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the event starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. for the VIP event, which runs from 5-6:30 p.m.

Tickets can be found at www.valleychildrens.org/DC4KIDS or through Ticketmaster.
