Bee’s prep football Week 11 predictions: Key games, rivalries highlight final week

The final week of the high school football regular season in the Central Section brings a mix ofo games that will determine league championships and playoff seedings as well as which school keeps a rivalry trophy.

Instead of making five predictions as The Bee has done all season, we’ll expand that with this week’s version of rivalry and key games.

The Bee is 39-11 in its predictions this season.

Clovis North at Central

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday

A Central win secures a share of the Tri-River Athletic Conference title if Clovis West beats Clovis.

Central has all the momentum, but so does Clovis North after an upset win over Buchanan.

Prediction: Central 47, Clovis North 30

Buchanan vs. Clovis East

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Lamonica Stadium

If the Bears hope to get at least a share of the TRAC title then they have to hope Central and Clovis West both lose.

The Timberwolves are struggling after a hot start.

Prediction: Buchanan 37, Clovis East 23

Clovis West vs. Clovis

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial Stadium

It was a crushing 45-0 loss for the Golden Eagles against Central.

That was a surprising result in the TRAC considering Clovis West has played well all season.

The Cougars, meanwhile, are coming off a win over Clovis East.

This game is for the Range Rider Trophy, with Clovis West leading the series 27-22, according to section historian Bob Barnett.

Clovis won last season’s matchup.

Prediction: Clovis West 43, Clovis 27

Fresno vs. Roosevelt

When: 7 p.m. Friday at Ratcliffe Stadium

Both teams have struggled this season, but throw out the records in this matchup as it’s the 92nd Little Big Game. Both teams are playing for the coveted bronze pig named Pancho.

Last season, The Little Big Game was won by Roosevelt 39-15.

The Warriors last won the Little Big Game in 2016. Fresno leads the series 46-42-2, Barnett said.

Prediction: Roosevelt 34, Fresno 13

Sanger at San Joaquin Memorial

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Big game to conclude the County/Metro Athletic Conference. Both teams are undefeated in the CMAC at 4-0.

The Apaches have played well down the stretch, but the Panthers have plenty of weapons.

Prediction: San Joaquin Memorial 47, Sanger 23

Hanford at Lemoore

When: 7 p.m. Friday

It’s the 79th Milk Can Game and it’s also for the West Yosemite League title.

The Tigers sit at 4-0 in the WYL, but the Bullpups lurk behind at 3-1. A win by the Bullpups would mean one thing, right?

This will be an entertaining matchup of high-powered offenses.

Prediction: Lemoore 57, Hanford 47

Tulare Western at Tulare Union

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Bob Mathias Stadium

While the West Yosemite League title is out of reach for both teams, there’s still a lot to play for in regards to the playoffs, and it’s the annual Bell Game.

Tulare Union won last season’s matchup 56-35.

More of the same here?

Prediction: Tulare Union 40, Tulare Western 26

Redwood vs. Mt. Whitney

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday at Mineral King Bowl

The Rangers are already East Yosemite League champions. Can they win the Cowhide Game?

Redwood leads the series 37-28-1, Barnett said.

Prediction: Redwood 34, Mt. Whitney 10

El Diamante at Golden West

When: 7 p.m. Friday

It’s the Battle for the Saddle.

The Trailblazers have lost the past two games, while the Miners are winless.

This is the first matchup in three seasons that the saddle is up for grabs. El Diamante leads the series 10-6, Barnett said.

Prediction: Golden West 27, El Diamante 6

Selma at Kingsburg

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

This is the 90th Fire Hydrant Trophy game.

The Vikings have been rolling minus the loss to Central Valley Christian.

The Bears have struggled.

Kingsburg leads the series 49-36-2.

Prediction: Kingsburg 40, Selma 13

Monache vs. Porterville

When: 7 p.m. Friday at Granite Hills

The 53rd Granite Bowl features two teams going in opposite direction.

The Panthers have just one loss this season. The Marauders are looking for their third win.

Prediction: Porterville 34, Monache 17

Kerman at Washington Union

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

This will be an interesting game. Both teams have played well during the season.

And this is the Battle of the Cats in memory of coach Anthony Taylor who died in 2017.

Tough game to call here.

Prediction: Washington Union 43, Kerman 37

Lindsay at Strathmore

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday

If the Spartans want a share of the East Sequoia League title, they need a win here and a Corcoran loss to Farmersville.

This game is also the Battle for the Bell.

Prediction: Strathmore 34, Lindsay 20

Edison vs. Bullard

When: 7 p.m. at Sunnyside Stadium

The Knights have won the past three matchups since the Crosstown Classic started in 2014

The Tigers have been strong this season behind the arm of QB Ya’J Vance.

The Knights have lost the past two games.

Prediction: Edison 44, Bullard 38

Torres at Madera South

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

This is the first Rodeo Bowl between the schools.

It should be a close one as both teams have played well during the season.

Both teams are 6-3 and 5-1 in the North Yosemite League.

Prediction: Madera South 34, Torres 30

Dos Palos at Coalinga

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

What’s at stake? The West Sierra League tile.

Both teams are 4-0.

This will be a close game.

Prediction: Coalinga 37, Dos Palos 34
