Jordyn Kwalwasser of Clovis East wins the The Fresno Bee’s Athlete of the Week poll for Aug. 29-Sept. 3.

Kwalwasser picked up 10,429 votes (63%). Taking second was Aidan Goodrich of Clovis West with 4,128 votes (25%).

Third was Sarah Guglielmana of Fresno Christian with 1,201 votes (7%).

Kwalwasser had 14 digs and 10 kills, helping the Timberwolves to a sweep over Garza.

Twenty-two Fresno-area high school players were nominated drawing from cross country, water polo and girls volleyball.

Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

Previous winners were Jazzy Vargas of Madera South volleyball and Nailea Fields of Caruthers volleyball.
