Fifteen Fresno State football players in the transfer portal. One withdraws his name
Fifteen Fresno State football players have entered the transfer portal — and one has withdrawn his name and will return to the Bulldogs under new coach Matt Entz.
That is wide receiver Josiah Freeman.
Freeman joined the Bulldogs in 2022 as a redshirt after playing junior college football at Hartnell Junior College where he was an all-state and all-conference selection.
In 2023 at Fresno State, Freeman played in 13 games and made his first career start against Eastern Washington. He finished the season with 19 receptions for 249 yards and a touchdown.
In 2024, he appeared in four games and had eight receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
Three former Bulldogs found new homes: wide receiver Raylen Sharpe (Arkansas), safety Julian Neal (Stanford) and linebacker Phoenix Jackson (Baylor).
Still in the transfer portal, according to 247 Sports, are quarterback Mickey Keene, running back Malik Sherrod, wide receiver Jalen Moss, cornerback Al’zillion Hamilton, defensive lineman Jacob Holmes, wide receiver Tim Grear, tight end Kamron Beachem, wide receiver Antoine Sullivan, defensive lineman Gavriel Lightfoot, athlete Justin Houston and wide receiver Karim McCune II.
