Grapevine closed as atmospheric river hammers Central Valley
The atmospheric river bringing a series of storms to the central San Joaquin Valley kept the Grapevine, the Interstate 5 route to Southern California, shut down Wednesday morning, with no immediate word on when the route will reopen.
The National Weather Service reported that the heavy storm front will remain stationary over Northern California through the week.
