The Fresno Police Department is investigating a kidnapping and stabbing that happened early Sunday.

The victim told officers his ex-girlfriend called him at 2:30 a.m. and asked to meet her and friends at the Motel 6 at Blackstone and Herndon avenues to party.

The victim arrived at 3 a.m. and was handcuffed and allegedly assaulted by two suspects. Police said one of the suspects grabbed a box cutter and stabbed the victim numerous times all over his body.

The three suspects placed the victim in a vehicle, who feared for his life and jumped from the vehicle and ran to a nearby home, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
