Hoover soccer coach accused of possessing child pornography, Fresno detectives say

A boys soccer coach at Hoover High School has been arrested and accused of possessing child pornography, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said on Thursday.

The office received a tip from the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force before arresting Miguel Lara, 38, of Fresno at his home near Cedar and Shaw avenues, according to a news release.

Lara was arrested on suspicion of possessing child sexual assault material, the sheriff’s office said. His electronic devices were also seized from his apartment.

Lara was an interim coach for the Hoover team, investigators said. Fresno Unified School District has been made aware of his arrest.
