A pedestrian was killed Friday night in a hit-and-run in Fresno.
Fresno police Lt. Henry Garcia III said the vehicle collided with the pedestrian just before 11 a.m. on Clinton Avenue between Valentine and Marks avenues.
Officers arrived and found a man in his 50s in the westbound lanes of Clinton, who was struck by at least one vehicle and possibly two, Garcia said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second vehicle remained on scene and is being cooperative, Garcia said.
“When our hit-and-run detectives respond, we are going to be looking for that first initial vehicle that collided into the pedestrian to see why they didn’t stop and to see exactly what occurred prior or to what led up with the collision,” Garcia said.
Officers remained on scene for several hours to investigate.
