Juvenile and man hospitalized in separate Fresno shootings, police say
Two people were taken to a Fresno hospital Sunday night after separate shootings.
Officers responded at 9 p.m. to Shaw and Marks avenues after a ShotSpotter activation.
When officers arrived, they located a 30-year-old man who was shot in the hip as he asked a citizen if he could use their phone to call for help after running across Shaw from a restaurant to Ewell’s Place.
He was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The description of the shooter is unknown. Detectives are investigating the shooting.
Fresno police Lt. Zeb Price said a disturbance took place before shots were fired. Officers found shell casings in the parking lot.
About 30 minutes later, Fresno Police and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car-to-car shooting in the area of Thomas and Fine avenues.
The shooting continued at North Sierra Vista Avenue.
Officers and deputies were notified of a juvenile who was grazed in the arm.
Officers and deputies were canvassing the area for surveillance video.
No one was detained.
