Fresno Police cruiser

The Fresno Police Department bomb squad responded Sunday to the ponding basin that is under construction as part of the high-speed rail project.

The device was found at McKinley and West avenues.

Police said they secured the area and the bomb squad was able to locate the device in an isolated area inside of the ponding basin, which is designed to help prevent flooding.

The bomb squad deemed the package safe.

Police said no one was in danger.
