Police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that sent a man to the hospital after he was on the roadway seeking help.

The shooting happened at 10:04 p.m. near Chestnut and Geary avenues. Officers arrived and found a man in his 30s who was calling for help while in the roadway with gunshot wounds to his upper body, Fresno police Lt. Leslie Williams said.

The man was taken to a local hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

Williams said officers have since made contact with those who live at the home and confirmed the shooting happened there.

Detectives are figuring out what their involvement was, but police said Monday afternoon that a 14-year-old was arrested for the alleged shooting.

The motive for the shooting is still being investigated.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
