A bicyclist was killed Sunday after he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in Fresno.

Officers responded to the crash just before 6 p.m. at Belmont Avenue and Thesta Street and found the victim lying in the roadway with serious injuries, Fresno police Lt. Leslie Williams said.

The bicyclist, who is in his 30s, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he died.

Williams said a black sedan fled the area after the collision.

The department’s collision reconstruction unit detectives are investigating the fatal collision.
