Update: 2 teens killed in fiery crash identified. They were Clovis East High grads

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified two teenagers killed in a suspected DUI crash over the weekend.

They were Maddux Greene, 18, and Jordan Galvez, 19, both of Fresno.

The Fresno Police Department received calls of a two-vehicle collision with one car on fire and people running from a second vehicle at 11:30 p.m. Friday at Clovis and Shields avenues.

Officers arrived and located a Ford Focus engulfed in flames, Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said.

Good Samaritans rushed to the Ford and removed one of the passengers. The teen had complaints of pain, Trueba Vega said.

The Fresno Fire Department extinguished the fire and found two occupants inside the vehicle.

The driver, Greene, was pronounced dead. Galvez died Saturday morning.

Two men in a Land Rover fled from the scene. Officers canvassed the area and located two people who matched descriptions given by witnesses, Trueba Vega said.

She said one of the men had injuries consistent with damage on the driver’s side windshield, and he later admitted to being the driver.

He was identified as 28-year-old Jagat Singh. Trueba Vega said he had a prior conviction for DUI and is on court probation. Singh was booked in Fresno County jail on suspicion of murder and hit-and-run.

Police said the Land Rover was going south on Clovis approaching the red light at Shields. The Ford was going west on Shields to make a left, or a southbound, turn. The Ford then had a green light, but was struck when the Land Rover ran a red light and hit the rear passenger side of the Ford.

The impact caused the Ford to spin, striking a fence and catching on fire.

A store employee told The Bee he ran out to try to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher.

Both victims graduated from Clovis East High School in 2024, Clovis Unified said.

A vigil was held Sunday night for the two victims.

A GoFundMe was created by Galvez’s father, Louie.
