Fiery crash between two vehicles in Fresno leaves one dead, several injured, police say
One person was killed Friday night and several injured in a two-vehicle collision between a large SUV and mid-size sedan in Fresno.
Fresno Police Lt. Marcus Gray II said the collision happened 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Clovis and Shields avenues with one vehicle on fire.
Officers responded and found a vehicle fully engulfed. Gray said a good Samaritan pulled a few passengers out of the vehicle .
Gray also said few occupants fled from the scene from both vehicles “and try to determine exactly what we have.”
How and why the collision occurred will be investigated by the department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit
Gray said multiple victims were taken to a local hospital and their condition is unknown.
A witness told The Bee he got a fire extinguisher and tried to stop the flames.
“There’s a lot of video evidence we got to collect,” Gray said. “Talk to this business as well, as other folks that were in and around the area.”
