Driver traveling at high speed collides with vehicle on Fresno streets, police say

A man was taken to a hospital with significant injuries following a collision in Fresno.

Officers responded to Hughes and Griffith avenues at 6:30 p.m., following reports of a collision.

Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound on Hughes approaching Griffith at a high rate of speed, when a vehicle pulled out onto Hughes from Griffith possibly ran the stop sign where a occurred.

Both occupants are possibly DUI, police said.

The department’s traffic unit is on scene investigating the collision.

It’s unknown on the condition of the driver.
