Two people were shot near Maya Cinemas in Fresno early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the 5100 block of N. Primitivo Way at 12:20 a.m. for a gunshot victim and found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

A few minutes later, a 21-year-old arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Fresno Police Lt. Steve Card said it is believed the victim was at the same location of the shooting when injured.

Officers learned there had been a party in the area which resulted in an argument between men, and a shooting occurred. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.

The motive for the shooting or if it was gang related is unknown, Card said.

The status of the victims is unknown.
