A man was hospitalized Friday afternoon after a shooting in Fresno.

Police said the incident happened shortly after 2 p.m. at McKinley and Brooks avenues after ShotSpotter detected 10 rounds being fired, police spokesperson Luke Tran said.

Officers arrived and located the victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was expected to be OK.

Shell casings were found. The victim was found inside an apartment, and residents there were being cooperative with the investigation, Tran said.

Officers were canvassing the area for surveillance video.
