Second person dies following DUI crash in Clovis, police say. Suspect remains in custody

Clovis Police

A second person has died following a DUI collision in early December in Clovis.

The Clovis Police Department on Monday said 42-year-old Ian Shaw of Clovis died on Dec. 28.

The double-fatal collision happened at Fowler and Gettysburg avenues on Dec. 1 when a vehicle ran a red light at a high rate of speed and collided with a vehicle driven by Shaw, police said.

Shaw’s passenger, 25-year-old Quinceia McBean of Coarsegold, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force of the collision caused the two vehicles to hit three parked cars in private driveways nearby, police said.

Shaw was taken to the hospital in critical condition before he died two days ago.

The suspect arrested was identified as 19-year-old Fnu Himanshu of Clovis and was booked into Fresno County jail. He remains in custody.

More charges are likely added, police said.

The family of Shaw has put together a GoFundMe page to help with costs.
