Man found with stab wounds at Fresno park, police say. He died a short time later

A man was fatally stabbed early Sunday morning at a Fresno park.

Officers responded to Martin Ray Reilly Park at Chestnut and Turner avenues at midnight to check the welfare of a man who was injured and bleeding, Fresno Police Lt. Leslie Williams said.

Officers located the man who was bleeding from stab wounds to his upper body.

Officers and EMS personnel provided medical aid.

The man was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.

Officers and detectives were on scene speaking with witnesses and attempting to determine what happened, Williams said.

Police don’t have a suspect description.
