Fresno police

A security guard was injured Saturday morning after he was assaulted by an unhoused man in Fresno

The incident happened at 9:50 a.m. at Club One Casino, located at 3950 N. Cedar Avenue, Fresno police Lt. Tim Tietjen said.

The man tried to enter the casino but the security guard denied entry and the suspect tried to push past the security guard. The security guard stepped in front of the man and told him he can’t leave.

The man allegedly struck the security guard with a metal object, causing head injuries, Tietjen said.

The security guard called police where officers then detained the man. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The security guard is expected to be OK.

Tietjen said camera footage picked up the incident.
