Two women stabbed following fight sparked by social media post, Fresno police say

Fresno police

A social media dispute led to a stabbing of two women Friday night in Fresno.

Officers responded to Sussex Way and Clark Avenue around 9 p.m. regarding victims of a stabbing, Fresno police Lt. Zeb Price said.

When officers arrived, they found two women, one 18 years old and the other 19, who had been stabbed. One was stabbed in the abdomen and the other on the side of the head.

Both were taken to a local hospital and their condition was unknown, Price said.

Officers learned that there was a disagreement over social media posts, which then led to a fight.

The victims had challenged the other females in the social media posts to a fight.

During the fight, one suspect was armed with a crowbar and the second was armed with a knife, Price said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
