Coroner ID’s man killed in hit-and-run in Fresno. Police release suspect vehicle images

The man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday afternoon

Theodore Ceja, 59, of Fresno was hit just before midnight on Saturday, July 16 at Belmont Avenue and First Street.

The suspect’s vehicle, described to be a gray GMC truck, fled eastbound on Belmont Avenue before turning north onto Bond Street.

Ceja was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Ceja was crossing the roadway from the south side of the street to the north side when he was struck in the No. 1 lane.

Detectives believe the GMC truck has significant damage to the front-end and driver’s side headlight area.
