Man shot after a disturbance on a Fresno roadway. It was caught on camera, police say
A man in his 30s was shot four times Saturday evening after a disturbance with two men in central Fresno.
Fresno police Lt. Sean Biggs said the shooting happened at 6:15 p.m. The department received multiple phone calls about the disturbance in the 500 block of South Glenn Avenue, near Belmont Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found the victim on the street. He was conscious and breathing and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Biggs said the man’s condition was not known.
A surveillance video appeared to capture what led up to the shooting.
Biggs said there was “some sort of disturbance “ prior to the shooting involving the victim and the two suspects.
One of the suspects, Biggs said, appeared to pull out a gun and fire several shots in the victim’s direction and also in a northwest direction striking a tire shop with workers inside.
The victim fell to the ground and the suspects ran away. Biggs said the shooter ran eastbound through an apartment complex. He was described to be wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and tan or khaki pants. The other suspect, who ran southbound, was wearing a red shirt or sweatshirt.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
