Body found partially buried in Fresno County field identified as Fresno woman

A body found partially buried in a field in Easton earlier this month has been identified as 39-year-old Tina Woods of Fresno, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

On Aug. 11, a worker called the sheriff’s office around 3:20 p.m. to report finding the partially buried body with a leg sticking out of the ground.

The woman was found on the north side of West Lincoln Avenue, between South Walnut and South Fruit avenues.

Homicide detectives are looking for Woods’ vehicle, described as a 2002 white Chevy Suburban with California license plate of 7RAE608. The SUV has a sunroof, tinted windows and a roof rack and has a large dent on the driver’s side rear quarter panel.

No arrests have been made and a motive has not been determined.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Gary Haslam at 559-600-8209 or Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867 and can remain anonymous.
