Man killed, teen wounded in late-night Fresno shooting. Police looking for shooter

A man was killed and a teen wounded late Thursday night in a shooting in southeast Fresno, police reported.

The incident was reported about 11:30 p.m. near East Church Avenue and South 10th Street, according to Lt. Anthony Dewall.

Arriving officers found the teen conscious and breathing from a gunshot wound to his chest. The adult victim also had serious wounds, and officers started CPR before they were relieved by EMS personnel, but the victim died at the scene.

The victim who died was identified Friday by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Miguel Carrillo, 36, of the Fresno area.

The teen was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition. It was not clear whether the pair were related.

Witnesses told officers that the victims walked out to the street for an unknown reason and were hit by gunfire. Also unknown was whether the shooting was gang-related. Detectives were canvassing for more information and checking for surveillance videos.
