Mendota teacher aide booked in sex case involving boy, 16

A 42-year-old Firebaugh woman working as a teacher aide was booked on felony charges for an alleged sexual relationship involving a 16-year-old boy, the Mendota Police Department reported.

She was identified as Veronica Marie Lopez.

A police spokesman said the alleged crimes occurred while Lopez was employed as an instructional aide for the Mendota School District and that Lopez offered a full confession to authorities.

She was booked into the Fresno County Jail and released on bond.
