Two brothers arrested in Utah on suspicion of killing Porterville man

Two brothers have been arrested in Utah on suspicion of murdering a Porterville man, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jeremy Bailey, 20, and Christopher Corbit, 25, are expected to be charged in the slaying of Adonis Tapia, 22, on Jan. 2 in Porterville.

After the killing, the pair fled to Nebraska, where it’s believed they have family, the sheriff’s office said.

On Sunday, the suspects were spotted entering Utah and a pursuit involving the Utah Highway Patrol and Nebraska State Patrol ensued.

The suspects crashed their vehicle and were taken into custody without incident.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects’ vehicle, believed to have been dumped shortly after the killing, is encouraged to contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at 559-733-6218. The vehicle is described as a black, 2006 Acura TL with license plate number 8HEZ274.
