Man killed in Porterville shooting. Sheriff’s office asks for help solving case
Detectives are investigating after a man was shot to death Thursday morning in Porterville, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived to the 700 block of East Success Drive, an unincorporated area on the east side of Porterville, just before 11 a.m. to find the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, said sheriff’s office spokesperson Liz Jones.
The man was taken to the hospital where he died. The sheriff’s office identified him on Friday as Adonis Tapia, 22, of Porterville.
Patrol units got to the scene within two minutes of the call, Jones said.
The homicide and forensic units of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office have taken over the investigation.
