‘Don’t kill me!’ Man stabbed in car in rent money dispute, Fresno police say

An argument over rent money near Edison High School ended early Wednesday with one man under arrest and another in critical condition, Fresno police reported.

Lt. Mark Hudson said the violence erupted in the 700 block of East Geary in southwest Fresno.

Witnesses called police after they heard a man shouting “don’t kill me!” as he ran from a Hyundai Elantra.

Arriving officers found the 27-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was reported to be in critical-but-stable condition.

The 26-year-old suspect was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
