Staff under coach Robert Haynes immediately called an ambulance when Scarborough began experiencing chest pain, a response his mother Joanna credits with saving his life. The incoming Rams freshman underwent a nine-hour surgery and remained unconscious for several days before waking up Thursday.
  • Motorcyclist killed in Tulare County solo crash ID’d by coroner: The Tulare County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist killed in Wednesday night’s solo crash outside Strathmore as 35-year-old Joshua James Gonzales of Porterville. Gonzales was riding a 2024 Harley-Davidson on Avenue 176 near Road 276 when his motorcycle went off the road and struck a fence around 8:03 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
