A Fresno motorcyclist on a 2012 Yamaha was killed in a solo-vehicle crash on June 5 in Madera County.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash in the area of Avenue 7 and Road 35 and found the rider, who was alert and conscious after being ejected.

He told officers he was traveling east on Avenue 7 at 55 mph when a dog ran into the road from the south shoulder, causing him to veer off the roadway onto the south dirt shoulder.

Davinder Singh Nagra, 42, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing, and alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors. CHP said Nagra wore a helmet.
