The 2-year-old girl who drowned in the backyard pool of a Fresno home over the weekend was identified Tuesday by the coroner as Amber Gill.

Just before 9 p.m. Saturday, officers were sent to a home in the 5700 block of North Shiraz Avenue, north of Veterans Boulevard and off North Blythe Avenue, after being told that a toddler had fallen in a pool and was not breathing, police said.

Police said the parents decided to start driving to the hospital and officers located them on Veterans Boulevard.

Officers started CPR until Fresno Fire arrived. EMS also arrived and took the 2-year-old to Valley Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said no foul play was suspected.
