Fresno airport adds direct flights to popular destination. Here’s where and when

Fresno Yosemite International Airport just added direct flights to a popular destination in the Pacific Northwest.

Travelers can now fly nonstop from Fresno to Portland International Airport in Oregon via Allegiant Air, the Fresno airport said in a news release.

To celebrate the new service, the ultra-low cost airline company is “offering one-way fares on the new route as low as $42,” the release said.

“Allegiant’s new seasonal service to Portland brings more options to our region’s travelers during the busy summer season and opens an air gateway for Portland-area residents to take advantage of all the city of Fresno and the Central Valley has to offer including our nearby national parks,” said Henry Thompson, the Fresno airport’s director of aviation, said in a Thursday news release

An Allegiant Air official said the airline “(looks) forward to connecting passengers in Fresno to Portland, Oregon.”

“Our brand of all-nonstop flights at unbeatable value continues to resonate with customers,” Allegiant chief commercial officer Drew Wells said in the release. “This region has been overlooked by other carriers, and we are thrilled to open the door to new vacation options for travelers.”

When are direct flights from Fresno to Portland available?

Starting Thursday, May 22, passengers can fly nonstop from Fresno Yosemite International Airport to Portland International Airport.

The new flights will be available up to two times a week, according to the news release.

According to the Fresno airport, details about flight days, times and plane fares can be found at Allegiant.com

“Seats and dates are limited and fares are not available on all flights,” the airport said.

Flights must be purchased by Saturday, May 24, for travel by Aug. 7, to take advantage of the introductory fare, according to the release.

What are one-way, round-trip plane ticket prices?

As of Thursday, a one-way flight Fresno to Portland, Oregon, cost as little as $92, according to Allegiant Air’s website.

Round-trip plane tickets cost $152 each.

You can book a flight online via allegiantair.com.

As of Thursday, Allegiant Air was accepting reservations through Sunday, Aug. 10.

Allegiant Air offers some of the cheapest long-distance flight routes in the United States, according to travel website Upgraded Points. That includes the route connecting Fresno to Philadelphia.

Which airlines have nonstop flights to Las Vegas?

Allegiant Air also offers non-stop flights to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.

As of Thursday, a one-way ticket cost $155, while a round-trip ticket was $240.

Southwest Airlines expanded its nonstop service from Fresno to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas in March, with flights available on Mondays and Thursdays.

The airline also has three direct flights to Las Vegas that depart daily.

A one-way plane ticket from Fresno to Las Vegas cost $345 as of Thursday.

Flights can be booked online at southwest.com. Southwest Airlines was accepting reservations through Jan. 26, 2026.

United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have connecting flights to Sin City.

When can I fly from Fresno to Chicago in 2025? Salt Lake City?

In May, United Airlines brought back seasonal nonstop service from Fresno to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

Direct Chicago flights will be available through October, with one-way tickets starting at $274 You can book a flight via the United Airlines website at united.com.

Delta Airlines will add a fourth daily direct flight from Fresno to Salt Lake City International Airport starting June 8.

One-way tickets begin at $429 and can be booked online at delta.com.

The airline was accepting reservations through April 18 of 2026 as of Thursday.

Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines all fly connecting flights from Fresno to Utah’s capital city.

How much does it cost to fly from Fresno to San Diego?

Southwest Airlines’ seasonal nonstop service from Fresno to Dallas Love Field Airport will return June 7 and continue through mid-August.

Flights will be available twice a week. One-way tickets cost $619 each.

Southwest Airlines will begin offering daily direct flights from Fresno to San Diego in October.

A one-way flight from Fresno Yosemite International Airport to San Diego International Airport costs $392 Southwest Airlines said. Alaska Airlines also offers nonstop service from Fresno to San Diego.

As of Thursday, the airline was accepting reservations through January 26, 2026.

What’s new at Fresno airport?

Fresno Yosemite International Airport is adding flight options for travelers as work continues on a major expansion of its terminal.

As part of the $150 million FATforward project, the Fresno airport is adding a second upper-level passenger concourse with more gates for both domestic and international flights, upgraded baggage inspection technology anda larger arrival and customs inspection area for international arrivals.

In April, the airport unveiled an expanded security checkpoint and new artwork.

“Passengers traveling through Fresno Yosemite International Airport will now experience improved security queuing within a 13,000-square feet-facility,” Vikkie Calderon, the airport’s public information officer, said in an April 23? news release.

The new security checkpoint layout aims to improve the “efficiency of passenger screening with more capacity and capability to operate five passenger screening lanes simultaneously,” Calderon said, adding 8,000 square feet and shifting passenger queuing from the lobby.

The terminal expansion also comes with a new dining option for travelers.

Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant in Fresno will open a second location at a 2,000-square-foot space in the shops and dining area of the Fresno airport’s new concourse, The Fresno Bee previously reported.
