Pedestrian dies after getting hit by 2 cars on Manning Ave. in Fresno County, CHP says

A pedestrian was killed Monday night when he was run over multiple times by vehicles on a Fresno County road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to the fatal incident east of Reedley at 8:35 p.m. along Manning Avenue, east of Englehart Avenue.

CHP said a 31-year-old Reedley man was walking in the eastbound lane of Manning when a 22-year-old woman driving a Hyundai Elantra was also headed east on Manning approaching the man. The driver was unable to see the pedestrian because of dark conditions, CHP said, and struck him.

After the impact, the pedestrian came to rest in the eastbound lane of Manning Avenue.

Also driving east on Manning, a 27-year-old woman in a Honda Accord was unable to avoid the pedestrian in the roadway, CHP said, and he was struck again.

The man was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center where he died. He was identified as Gurminder Singh.

Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision; however, toxicology results for the pedestrian are pending as part of the ongoing investigation.
