Officers responded to a three-vehicle collision Sunday that occurred near a demonstration in Fresno.

The collision occurred just after 2 p.m. at Blackstone Avenue, near El Paso Avenue.

Police said the two vehicles were slowing for southbound Blackstone traffic south of Nees when a third trailing vehicle failed to slow and rear ended one vehicle, causing that vehicle to rear end the lead vehicle.

Two people were treated for complaints of pain.

The collision was unrelated to the demonstration, police said.

Hundreds gathered for a demonstration at Blackstone and Nees avenues over the Border Patrol’s three-day operation dubbed “Return to Sender” in Kern County.
